Do I need to know any Lao already?
No. The alphabet course starts from zero — every character, every sound, every stroke. The 500-word course builds on the alphabet, so there's no prerequisite beyond finishing (or previewing) the first lessons.
Does it work offline?
Yes, fully. Once the app is installed, everything — lessons, audio, your progress — runs on your device. No internet needed after download. No account to create.
Will my progress sync between devices?
By design, no. Your learning data never leaves your device. We treat this as a privacy feature, not a limitation: there's no account to get hacked, no server to outlive us. The IAP entitlement does follow your app store account, so purchasing once on iPhone unlocks iPad automatically.
Is the audio actually from a native speaker?
Yes. Every headword and example sentence in the 500-word course is recorded by a native Lao speaker. You'll hear the real tones, not synthesized approximations.
How long until I see real progress?
Ten minutes a day for two weeks is enough to write most of the alphabet from memory. The 500-word course is paced for daily sessions — you'll add 3 to 5 new words a day and review older ones via spaced repetition. Most learners hit 100 mastered words in a month.
Why is the 500-word course a paid upgrade?
Because curating, recording, and tagging 500 words (plus 1,000+ example sentences with audio) is real work. The alphabet course is free forever so you can see the teaching style before spending anything. If it's not for you, you've lost nothing.
Can I get a refund?
